NGO in the special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations
IHRO’s registration under the Social Welfare Act of 1961 confers upon it the legal framework necessary to operate within Pakistan and to collaborate with national and international bodies. This status ensures that IHRO functions in accordance with the laws of Pakistan while maintaining its independence as a human rights organization.
The bylaws of IHRO are designed to guide its operations, ensuring alignment with its mission to promote and protect fundamental human rights. These bylaws establish the organizational structure, governance policies, and operational procedures that enable IHRO to function effectively and ethically.
IHRO holds Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations. This prestigious status allows us to engage in substantive discussions on human rights issues at the National and International level and to participate in the UN’s activities and processes.
The International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) is a globally recognized non-governmental organization committed to the promotion and protection of human rights. We operate as a registered NGO under the Government of Pakistan, adhering to local regulations and contributing to human rights advocacy within the region.
